Pie fillings

Our extensive knowledge of the baking industry and experience in the manufacture of jams and mincemeat has led to the successful development of a range of quality pie fillings.

Mather's pie filling bases have been formulated to give good fruit distribution while maintaining a pleasant, light mouth feel. The eating quality of the fruit, is optimised by using a specially developed processing technique.

We offer a variety of fruits and combinations including apple, apricot, cherry, rhubarb, blackcurrant, blackberry, strawberry and raspberry plus an assortment of fruit blends.

A range of, fruit piece sizes can be offered to enhance the appearance and eating quality of different sized products.

Our pie filling recipes can be designed to accommodate specific customer requirements such as bake-stability or pastry preservation during shelf life.

During the development of bespoke recipes, we can incorporate special requirements such as fruit blends, enhanced flavour or colour, texture and handling properties.

Mincemeat

We fully appreciate the seasonal demands for mincemeat experienced by our customers. We know that every delivery must be right first time.

We offer an extensive range of quality mincemeats developed from time proven recipes and a wealth of experience, to meet the requirements of discerning bakers and to satisfy the tastes and expectations of their customers.

Our mincemeat recipes are designed to support particular process requirements such as pumping, dosing, bake stability and freeze-thaw stability.

We have developed special blends to fulfil particular requirements in the finished product such as vegetarian or suet-free mincemeats. We also develop recipes using a range of more exotic ingredients to tempt the connoisseur, carefully balanced to deliver exceptional eating quality.

Jams, spreads & fillings

We produce a complete range of quality jams, curds and marmalades designed to meet all bakery requirements. Our jams are made by the time-proven open pan method combined with modern computer controlled systems.

The emphasis we place on in house training ensures that the necessary skills which are vital to the making of quality preserves, are handed on to future generations of our jam-makers.

Our extensive range of flavours used in doughnuts, tarts, cakes, pies and puddings is ever-expanding to incorporate new an exciting product ideas.

Our products are designed to deliver specific processing requirements such as injecting, spreading, pumping, heat processing and glazing.

To satisfy individual requirements, specific features such as flavour, colour and texture can be accommodated during a product's development, ensuring that our products deliver the perfect results for our customers.

Organic jams & mincemeat

We can offer a selective range of organic jams and mincemeat to meet the ever-increasing demand from consumers for organic products

Our factory, processes and controls are accredited by the Soil Association, enabling us to manufacture a range of traditional fruit jams and quality, high fruit mincemeat. These recipes are, of course, formulated to the Soil Association Organic Standard and are designed to satisfy normal baking requirements.

All organic raw materials are from approved growers and suppliers and are selected to maintain the high quality standards expected from our products.
